Relief Nursery Therapeutic Early Childhood Program

Our Relief Nursery Therapeutic Early Childhood Program (TECP) provides nurturing, relationship-based classrooms that support the social, emotional, and cognitive development of young children while strengthening the resilience of families experiencing stress, adversity, or trauma.

Our highly trained therapeutic teachers create safe, predictable, and engaging learning environments where children develop the skills they need to thrive. Through intentional, consistent, and research-informed practices, children learn to regulate their emotions, solve problems, build positive relationships, develop confidence, and discover the joy of learning.
A hallmark of our program is the strong partnership between teachers and families. Each family participates in regular home visits with their child’s teacher, creating continuity between home and the classroom while supporting each child’s growth and strengthening family relationships. This collaborative approach helps children feel safe, supported, and ready to succeed both in school and in life. The Therapeutic Early Childhood Program is a core component of Oregon’s Relief Nursery model, which combines therapeutic classrooms with family support to help strengthen families and prevent child abuse and neglect.
